Simon Darcy Dr Simon Darcy is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Leisure, Sport and Tourism at the University of Technology, Sydney. As a researcher and consultant, Simon has been involved in a range of projects and publications on topics such as leisure and tourism participation patterns, disability tourism experiences, inclusive planning processes, environmental planning issues for major developments, appropriate use options for natural and heritage areas, and Olympic and Paralympic planning processes. Since incurring a spinal injury in 1983 Simon is a power wheelchair user and has been active in the advocacy and research of issues facing people with disabilities. He has held and holds a variety of board positions with disability organisations and represents the perspective of people with disabilities on a range of government committees. Simon passionately believes in the rights of all people to fully participate in community life. |
