Julia Shepherd, Community Participation Project Julia is one of the coordinators of the Community Participation Project funded by the Motor Accidents Authority. This is a 2 year pilot project designed to better coordinate service for people with a newly acquired spinal cord injury living in NSW. Julia has previously worked for ParaQuad NSW as the Support Services Coordinator and Peer Support Officer, and has extensive knowledge of community services and issues. Julia has also worked in the private sector, and has completed an Honours degree with her thesis on 'Representations of people with disabilities in Australian media.' Julia sustained an L1 spinal cord injury 17 year ago whilst living overseas as an exchange student. She remained living overseas for many years post injury and has gained much experience of travelling post spinal cord injury.
