Message from Christopher Reeve

When I visited Australia for the Making Connections forum in 2003, it was the first time in this country so many people had come together to share ideas on how to improve the lives of people with spinal cord injury and conditions.

World renowned scientists and researchers spoke alongside those working in rehabilitation, social policy, the non-government sector and business, people living with spinal cord injury and conditions, their families and carers. 

That spirit of sharing and community continues with the Making Connections website. The "Talk with the Experts" online discussion forums will expand the connections between us, what we know, and what we together can do.

The “experts” are the people living with spinal cord injury, families, carers, health professionals, and the scientists working to find treatments and, one day, a cure.

I hope you find it an informative, interesting and challenging experience.
