The Making Connections website has been developed following the success of the 2003 Premier's Forum on Spinal Cord Injury and Conditions.

Science, public policy, health care and social networks come together in this website to build a community committed to improving the quality of life for people living with a spinal cord injury or neurological conditions.

As a unique event for leading Australian and international researchers, clinicians, healthcare and rehabilitation professionals, people with spinal cord injury and carers, Re:connections allowed the sharing of knowledge and strengthening of research, clinical, and community networks related to spinal cord injury. Marking the third anniversary of the Making Connections forum -- the NSW Premier’s Forum on Spinal Cord Injury and Conditions -- at which the late Christopher Reeve was the keynote speaker, the Re:connections forum was held on 29 May 2006.
